A Nihon University study found that playing video games can actually improve your mental health, as long as you spend less than three hours a day in front of your console. By analyzing 8,200 gamers who participated in gaming console lotteries during the Covid-19 pandemic, Japanese researchers found that owners of the Nintendo Switch saw the most mental health gains. Researchers propose that video games can help provide a sense of achievement and foster social connections. However, since this data was collected during the pandemic, it’s possible that these benefits were due in part to the social isolation happening at that time. (Study Finds)
