A Florida family is suing a Miami art gallery after paying more than $6 million for fake Andy Warhol pieces. The Perlman family is alleging that Les Roberts, the director of Miami Fine Art Gallery, convinced them that the pieces were authentic with fraudulent emails from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. The suit also claims Roberts sent bogus appraisers to authenticate the work. “I don’t believe anything was a forgery—everything looked good to me,” Roberts said. Roberts has previously served time in prison for selling forgeries. (newser)
