A University of Virginia study found that out-of-body experiences could shape how we care for other people. About 15% of people have or will experience OBEs, which can be induced by life-threatening situations, sensory deprivation, hypnosis, or psychedelic substances. “The detachment from the physical body often leads to a sense of interconnectedness with all life and a deepened emotional connection with others,” researchers wrote. These experiences can promote compassion and understanding afterward. (Study Finds)
