Postal workers love the new vehicle designs, even though some say they’re “uglier” than the Grumman Long Life Vehicles that have been on the road since 1987. The new designs are taller, have air conditioning, airbags, blind-spot monitoring, and anti-lock brakes…all features the Grummans did not have. Even though the long-awaited new trucks come with modern features, they have surprisingly large windshields, a hood that looks like a duck bill, and giant bumpers. “You can tell that (the designers) didn’t have appearance in mind,” postal worker Avis Stonum said. Within a few years, 60,000 Next Generation Delivery Vehicles will be on the road. (AP News)
