Austrian Man Claims His Son Convinced Him To Rob Stores

A 34-year-old Austrian man blamed his son and his son’s best friend for a series of robberies, and claimed that he only served as the getaway driver. The two teenagers would go into tobacco stores and gas stations with knives or pistols, and the adult would wait in the car outside. The trio robbed seven locations before getting caught, but, instead of taking responsibility, the adult in the situation said he was nothing more than an accomplice. “Why are you dragging your son into a situation like this? I would do anything to keep my children out of it as much as possible. It’s destroying his life,” the Judge told the 34-year-old. The father eventually did confess his involvement, and will serve eight years in prison. (Oddity Central)
