Woman Sets New Appalachian Trail Record

Tara Dower is now the fastest person to have completed the 2,197-mile Appalachian Trail. The average hiker can make the journey in six months…Dower did it in under six weeks. The 31-year-old completed the trail from Maine to Georgia in 40 days, 18 hours, and five minutes. Dower has used her speedy hike to fundraise $21,000 for the Girls on the Run nonprofit. (newser)
