A global survey of 20,000 employed adults found that 45% of respondents have been victims of a hacking attempt or scam. 72% say these scams and phishing attempts have become more sophisticated, but only 23% report taking cybersecurity training after a workplace-related cyberattack. Of those who were successfully hacked, 22% lost money, and 30% feel their personal information might never be safe again. “People tend to reuse passwords across multiple accounts and use weak passwords, which allows hackers to breach multiple accounts with a single login,” Derek Hanson of Yubico said. “We encourage everyone, both companies and individuals, to reexamine their data protection and adopt more secure measures, like multi-factor authentication whenever possible.” (swnsdigital)
