A man and his dog who were sailing 25 miles away from Sanibel Island, Florida, were rescued from Hurricane Helene on September 26th. Their vessel was disabled by the storm and the pair were saved by a Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater helicopter crew. The man and his dog are reportedly doing well. A photo of the man wearing a lifejacket and holding onto his pup as they float in the ocean has been released by the U.S. Coast Guard. (Bloomingtonian)
