An 81-year-old Montana man is facing jail time for illegally using testicles from large sheep to create hybrid sheep for trophy hunting. While prosecutors are not seeking prison time, Arthur Schubarth could be fined up to $250,000. Schubarth reportedly successfully cloned an endangered giant Marco Polo sheep, which he named Montana Mountain King. Schubarth admitted that he was conspiring to use the clone to create a hybrid species here in the United States that would be more valuable for hunting. “I got my normal mindset clouded by my enthusiasm and looked for any grey area in the law to make the best sheep I could for this sheep industry,” Schubarth wrote. The investigation into his co-conspirators is ongoing. (AP News)
