A U.S. Postal Service worker has been accused of stealing checks from letters and fraudulently stealing a pandemic relief loan. Anthony Virdure was charged with mail theft and wire fraud on Wednesday. Prosecutors claim Virdure stole about $1.5 million in checks while working at a USPS distribution center in St. Louis. They also claim he obtained a $20,832 Pandemic Protection Program Loan through fraudulent means. If found guilty, Virdure faces up to 20 years in prison. (In Short)
