A New York City police officer has been fined for leaving bizarre voicemail messages after a citizen complained about police parking. “I left a voicemail for him in which I pretended to be a former romantic partner,” Officer Brendan Sullivan said. In addition to leaving breathy, seductive messages, he also left messages where he made dolphin, sheep, and seal noises. The citizen in question, Paul Vogel, received these calls over the span of 10 months in 2021 and 2022. Sullivan was fined $500 for seeking “to discourage a citizen from exercising his constitutional right about government action.” Sullivan also lost 60 days of leave for his prank phone calls. (newser)
