A mechanic working at the LAM Museum in the Netherlands threw away two beer cans…that were actually works of art. The beer cans had been painted by French artist Alexandre Lavet and the work was titled “All The Good Times We Spent Together.” Fortunately, other staff members realized what had happened and fished the cans out of the garbage. The cans had originally been displayed in the elevator, but the mishap has caused the museum to rethink its presentation. “By displaying artworks in unexpected places, we amplify this experience and keep visitors on their toes,” a spokesperson for the museum said. The mechanic, who was just trying to keep the place tidy, is not in any trouble. (newser)
