Researchers have discovered differences in how men and women metabolize food! A University of Waterloo study found that women’s bodies were more efficient at burning fat, while men were more efficient at burning carbs, especially after a fast. Scientists suspect that differences in men and women’s livers could play a big role. “We live busy lives, so it’s important to understand how seemingly inconsequential decisions, such as what to have for breakfast, can affect our health and energy levels,” lead author Stéphanie Abo said. According to the results of this study, a high-carb breakfast of toast or oatmeal might work better for men, while women might want to stick to high-fat options like avocado or eggs. (Study Finds)
