Animal rescuers in Texas were puzzled when they received reports of a lemur in Houston’s Bear Creek Park. “We were extremely skeptical and thought it may be a raccoon that was acting oddly, which could indicate rabies,” Toby’s Wildlife Management & Pest Control said on social media. However, there was actually a very kind, very intelligent lemur running around the park. Lemurs are native to Madagascar and are considered exotic pets in Texas. The animal promptly climbed into the rescue team’s car on his own. Lenny the Lemur, as his rescuers call him, will be checked for a microchip and brought to a sanctuary if an owner is not found.
