Study: Can Robots Get Kids Moving?

Researchers from Oregon State University created a robot that can help keep kids moving. The GoBot was designed specifically to gain the attention of young children and encourage active play. Eight children under three who were given GoBots were more physically active when their GoBot was on. “A relatively low-cost robot playmate – one that offers more intelligence and independence compared to current phone-operated robotic toys – might be feasible in the near future,” Dr. Naomi Fitter said.
