A poll of 2,000 Americans found that the average respondent consumes 99 grams of sugar a day, and about 36,000 grams in a year. That’s about 80 pounds of sugar. 85% of those polled are working to reduce their sugar intake, and 51% are working to drink water. Respondents are more likely to consume more sugar when they are stressed, bored, fatigued, and lonely. “It is possible to enjoy delicious-tasting foods and drinks without sugar or guilt, it simply takes a bit of intentionality and finding brands and products that prioritize your health as much as you do,” Calhoun Robb of Hint Water said.
