David Jakins, also known as King Conker, has been cleared of cheating at the World Conker Championships. Jakins win came under question when he was spotted with a steel nut. Jakins, who has been competing since 1977, insisted that he was innocent. “I’ve been playing and practising for decades. That’s how I won,” Jakins said. The World Conker Championships attracted 256 players and 2,000 fans to Northamptonshire on October 13th. The British game involves competitors throwing nuts on strings in an attempt to crack the opponents’ nut. (The Guardian)
