Over 22 tons of cheddar cheese was taken from Neal’s Yard Dairy in the UK, the shop reported. The store claimed in an Instagram post that the theft was carried out by a fake who posed as a “legitimate wholesale distributor for a major French retailer.” Unfortunately, the store discovered the ruse after 950 wheels of Hafod, Westcombe, and Pitchfork cheddar were delivered. Neal’s Yard Dairy says it’s working with law enforcement, and urges cheesemongers around the world to report suspicious clothbound Cheddars to info@nealsyarddairy.co.uk. (Food and Wine)
