Americans start to lose their patience if their food isn’t delivered within 29 minutes of ordering, a new Meals on Wheels survey found. This might be because it’s the same amount of time they feel it takes to prepare a meal at home. While Americans are impatiently waiting for delivery, many seniors are on wait lists for Meals on Wheels services. “Millions of seniors receive our programs’ life-saving services every day, but too many older Americans are still waiting for nutritious meals and moments of connection,” President Ellie Hollander said. “Government funding, private donations and volunteerism have declined while demand for services and costs have increased.” 48% of those polled have a loved one over 65 that they worry about every single day.
