A rare dime minted in 1975 just sold for $506,250 at auction. GreatCollections reported that the “1975 No S Proof Dime” was sold by an Ohio collector who purchased the coin in 1978 for $18,200. The rarity is known for missing the “S” mark. Only one other such dime exists. “After spirited bidding, it was ultimately won by a long-time client of ours who appreciates rarities that infrequently appear on the market,” GreatCollections President Ian Russell said. “His goal is for his family to own it for the next 46 years, similar to the seller’s family.” (UPI)
