A study from the University of Colorado Boulder and the University of California Riverside found that millennials could be aging themselves by sitting too much. Researchers analyzed the habits of 1,000 participants and found that some millennials spend more than 60 hours per week sitting. Adults between the ages of 28 and 49 who sat for longer periods of time tended to have higher BMIs and “older” health markers. “Our research suggests that sitting less throughout the day, getting more vigorous exercise, or a combination of both may be necessary to reduce the risk of premature aging in early adulthood,” study author Chandra Reynolds said.
