Does your social circle shrink the older you get? This could be good for your health, a UK study found. Researchers from the University of Exeter found that older monkeys on Cayo Santiago Island had fewer social interactions than younger ones, and this limited socialization reduced their risk of catching an infection. “Our findings suggest a powerful reason why many animals, including humans, might reduce their social connections as they age,” study co-author Erin Siracusa said.
