A study from Quebec found that berry-flavored vapes appear to be the most damaging to the lungs compared to unflavored e-cigarettes. Researchers believe the flavor can weaken the body’s natural defenses. “We need to be careful about the types of flavors that we’re including in these products,” study co-author Ajitha Thanabalasuriar of McGill University said. “The way they’re sold, the type of containers they are sold in — it’s very colorful, it’s really attractive to children.” The study exposed mice to different e-cigarette flavors and examined lung immune cells.
