A Pepperdine University survey of 2,000 Gen Zers found that the average young respondent consumes 6.6 hours of media and content every day. On average, Americans of all generations consume 42 hours of content per week. Millennials spend the most on streaming services, with Gen Z not too far behind ($40 per month and $39.20 per month). Of all the generations, Gen Z spends the most on audio subscriptions, while the Silent Generation pays practically nothing to stream music. Unfortunately, the average respondent feels guilty about their media consumption 3.1 times a month. “If you are feeling guilty about wasting time online, acknowledge it and use it to refocus your values and intentions,” Natasha Thapar-Olmos, Ph.D., said.
