Lunchables will no longer be available as part of school food programs nationwide, Kraft Heinz announced Tuesday. Lunchables were a part of the National School Lunch Program, but are being pulled from trays due to low demand. “Lunchables products are not available in schools this year, and we hope to revisit at a future date,” Kraft Heinz said in a statement. However, some critics applauded the news. “Lunchables and other lunch kits with concerning levels of sodium and harmful chemicals have no place on the school lunch menu,” Brian Ronholm of Consumer Reports said. In April 2024, tests of Lunchables revealed the presence of lead and cadmium. (Cheapism)
