Wells Fargo analysts found, upon visiting eight locations in New York City, that Chipotle burrito bowls weighed up to 33% less at some locations. Some TikTokers reported that recording Chipotle employees resulted in larger portions being served. Now, one of the chain’s shareholders is alleging that Chipotle misled investors about its portion sizes. The lawsuit claims that investors suffered “significant losses and damages” over the controversy. “Portioning is a core equity of ours in the organization, and we are committed to ensuring that we give the right portion to every guest that walks into the building,” Scott Boatwright of Chipotle said during an October 29th earnings call.
