A class-action lawsuit has been filed against Netflix by Florida man Ronald Denton. The filing claims that on the night of the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match, viewers “were faced with legendary problems, including: no access, streaming glitches, and buffering issues.” Denton is suing for breach of contract. Netflix seemed to be aware of issues as 38 million accounts streamed the match. “This unprecedented scale created many technical challenges, which the launch team tackled brilliantly by prioritizing stability of the stream for the majority of viewers,” the CTO reportedly wrote in an internal email.
