A survey of 2,000 Americans found that we start itching for a vacation every 110 days. This means most respondents will need a vacation by April 20th, 2025. However, only 18% of workers with paid time off will use their full allotment. The average respondent with PTO has 5.4 days left over at the end of the year that they didn’t use or roll over. When respondents do use their PTO, it’s not always for vacations: doctor’s appointments and family emergencies also made up the list of top 5 uses of PTO. “It’s easy to let our PTO fill with errands and keep up with hectic lives but it’s vital to make time for ourselves and ensure things don’t build up in the long run,” Dana Studebaker of Apple Vacations said.
