Researchers from Westlake University, China, have linked intermittent fasting to hair loss. By examining the impact of the diet on mice, the team found that this eating pattern could starve cells of the energy needed to encourage hair growth. A time-restricted diet was linked to an 18% reduced speed of hair growth. “We see a milder effect in humans. So, there is still hair regrowth; it’s just a little bit slower than usual,” biologist Bing Zhang said. “We don’t want to scare people away from practicing intermittent fasting. It’s just important to be aware that it might have some unintended effects.” (dailymail.co.uk)
