It pays to believe! A survey of 2,000 parents who celebrate Christmas found that they spend $100 more on gifts if their child believes in Santa. 68% of their children aged 18 or under believe, while 27% do not. The most expensive gifts kids are asking Santa for cost around $205. The average parent of a child who believes in Santa anticipates spending $491 on gifts. “Parents of Santa-believers may feel more urgency to make each Christmas memorable, which could explain the higher spending,” Elizabeth Simer of Slickdeals said. For parents whose children don’t believe in Santa, 31% try to make the holidays magical by giving the most-desired gifts last. (swnsdigital)
