Virus cases are spiking nationwide during the winter months, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Respiratory flu, stomach flu, Covid-19, and RSV cases have recently been linked to a rise in emergency visits. “The amount of acute respiratory illness causing people to seek healthcare is at a high level and continues to increase nationally,” the CDC said. There have been an estimated 5.2 million illnesses, 63,000 hospitalizations, and 2,700 deaths so far this flu season. (UPI)
