Brandy Plans Release Of Her First Memoir, Says “It’s A Reflection Of Resilience”

Brandy took to Instagram on Wednesday (January 8) to announce the forthcoming publication of her as-yet-untitled memoir, which is set to come out on October 7. The Grammy-winning musician and actor’s book will trace her childhood growing up in McComb, Mississippi, and detail her rise to fame as a teenager, documenting her successful music career and leading roles in projects like the hit TV show Moesha and portraying the first Black Cinderella. “This memoir is more than a book,” Brandy wrote in the caption. “It’s a reflection of resilience, hope, and rediscovering myself beyond the fame, the music and the spotlight.” The memoir will be published by Hanover Square Press, with the 45-year-old star describing the writing process as “one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences of my life.” “I allowed myself the space to be fearless and vulnerable to reveal some of my most intimate moments,” Brandy shared. “For the first time, I am sharing my story — honest, unfiltered and not through the lens of media or critics.” (Rolling Stone)
