Researchers from the University College London made a shocking discovery: Adults diagnosed with ADHD have significantly shorter life expectancies, with men living about 7 years less and women almost 9 years less than adults who do not have the condition. The study analyzed data from 10 million people in the UK, 30,000 of whom were diagnosed with ADHD. “People with ADHD have many strengths and can thrive with the right support and treatment,” Professor Josh Stott said. “However, they often lack support and are more likely to experience stressful life events and social exclusion.” Those with ADHD may experiences challenges with impulsiveness, restlessness, and time management, which can impact their success.
