An unnamed Florida man decided to try a trendy high-fat diet of beef, cheese, and butter…and ended up with fat oozing out of his pores. The case, which was published in JAMA Cardiology, says the patient’s cholesterol levels were over 1,000 milligrams per decileter. High cholesterol is anything over 240. In fact, the excess fat came out of his blood vessels and resulted in visible yellowish deposits on his hands. Authors say this case “highlights the impact of dietary patterns on lipid levels.” It is unclear if the man has returned to a more well-rounded diet in light of this condition. (Wired)
