A recent survey by the University of California found that Gen Z is more concerned about safety than popularity. The poll of 1,644 people ages 10 to 24 asked participants to rate 14 personal goals, and “to be safe” came out on top. “Today’s youth are growing up in an era of compounded crises — school shootings, a worsening climate crisis, financial uncertainty and the lingering trauma of a global pandemic,” researcher Yalda T. Uhls said. Respondents also ranked being kind, having fun, and self-acceptance as other top priorities. Popularity, fame, and tradition ranked low on the list. (Study Finds)
