In the Czech Republic, a group of beavers naturally did what it took local authorities seven years to do: They built a dam. A restoration project in Brdy nature park has been in the works since 2018. The government gained necessary permits and was prepared to start building, but found their work had already been done by beavers. “The beavers saved us 30 million Czech crowns. They built the dams without any project documentation and for free,” the head of the nature reserve administration. In American currency, this comes out to $1 million dollars.
