The University of California Student Association is alleging that Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, illegally accessed student data. Their lawsuit seeks to prevent DOGE from viewing sensitive personal information held by the U.S. Department of Education. Association President Aditi Hariharan said in a statement that students nationwide “did not consent to having…personal information shared with an unelected and non-Congressionally approved entity.” Virginia Democrat Representative Bobby Scott has also asked the Government Accountability Office to investigate DOGE’s actions.
