A new sleep trend has appeared on the wellness scene: Sleepmaxxing. Sleepmaxxing is using a host of sleep strategies, like going to bed with a weighted blanket, taking melatonin, and using a white noise machine…all at once. Dr. Suhaib Haq says that while sleep is important and worth investing in, these strategies may not address the root cause of sleep problems. “Some of these things actually do help, but may lead to a false sense of security and may lead to delaying the diagnosis of some underlying sleep conditions,” Dr. Haq said. He recommends exercising regularly, eating healthy foods, and paying attention to one’s body. (AOL)
