Man Forges Death Certificate To Get Paid Leave

A Singaporean man was fined after forging his grandfather’s death certificate to receive paid time off. 29-year-old Barath Gopal and his girlfriend broke up in November 2023, but instead of taking his vacation days, Gopal applied for bereavement leave. He said his grandfather died in his sleep, and his work request was granted. However, the death certificate Gopal produced turned out to be a forgery. Gopal resigned from his job in December of 2023 and was fined $4,000 for his deception. (Oddity Central)
