The world’s tallest and second-fastest roller coaster, the Kingda Ka, is scheduled to be demolished. While the exact date is unknown, onlookers in New Jersey have parked along Route 537 all week to catch a glimpse of the Six Flags’ ride. “A lot of people are still emotionally attached to Kingda Ka,” Matt Kaiser of American Coaster Enthusiasts said. The ride opened in 2005 and has a top speed of 128 miles per hour. Unfortunately, the coaster was plagued with constant, months-long closures during its run. The New Jersey location promises the Kingda Ka will be replaced by an “all-new, multi-record-breaking launch coaster, a must-ride attraction sure to capture fans’ imaginations.” (APP.com)
