Georgia woman Krystena Murray is suing her IVF clinic for implanting the wrong embryo into her uterus. The mix-up became clear when Murray gave birth to a child with a different ethnicity. However, despite the clinic’s mistake, Murray and her husband wanted to keep the baby. The couple raised him for several months until his biological parents were given custody. Now, Murray is suing Coastal Fertility Specialists. “This was an isolated event with no further patients affected,” the clinic says in a statement. “We immediately conducted an in-depth review and put additional safeguards in place to further protect patients and to ensure that such an incident does not happen again.” (BBC)
