Many potatoes were cooked to a crisp when a tractor-trailer hauling curly fries went up in flames on Interstate 95. The York Fire Department and Kittery Fire crews responded to over 30 calls of a vehicle on fire on a Maine highway. “It was quickly determined that the cargo was frozen curly french fries and not a hazardous material,” the York Fire Department said. The firefighters used 6,000 gallons of water to soak the spuds. Fortunately, no one was injured. (UPI)
