A 40-day consumer boycott of Target started yesterday over the company’s decision to move away from diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI, policies. “We’re asking people to divest from Target because they have turned their back on our community,” Reverend Jamal Bryant of Atlanta said. While other companies like John Deere and Walmart have also scaled back their DEI efforts, Target generally has a more left-leaning base, and has been a leading advocate for DEI programs for years.
