Research presented at an American Heart Association meeting on Thursday suggests a link between poor sleep and high blood pressure in teenagers. Teens who get less than 7.7 hours of sleep per night are more at risk, a Pennsylvania State University study found. “It is safe to say that sleep health matters for heart health, and we should not wait until adulthood to address it,” senior researcher Julio Fernandez-Mendoza said. Researchers say setting healthy lifestyle habits in childhood and adolescence carry into adulthood. (UPI)
