According to a Talker Research survey of 2,000 Americans, a quarter of adults are “burnt out” before they turn 30. Gen Z and millennial adults say they’re the most stressed at age 25. The average respondent, all generations considered, experienced peak burnout at age 42. 30% of all respondents say finances were the top factor. “It’s fascinating — and a little concerning — to see how younger Americans are experiencing peak stress earlier than ever before,” Psychologist Ehab Youssef of Mentalyc said. “They’re feeling pressure from every direction — career, finances, relationships, even social media expectations.” 72% of participants suspect being an adult will only become more challenging in the years to come.
