Michigan has upheld a 1931 law carrying a five-year prison sentence for having brass knuckles. The court ruled that there’s no constitutional right to having metallic knuckles, which are usually associated with violent ambushes. Judge Christopher Murray wrote that “the history and tradition of the use is not a glamorous one.” However, Ryan Keast argued that brass knuckles could also be used as a self-defense weapon. Brass knuckles are illegal in 21 states, and 17 regulate their possession. (newser)
