Chinese research discovered that diet changes could help reduce risk of developing tinnitus. Tinnitus is also known as ringing in one’s ears. About 14% of adults suffer from tinnitus, and exposure to loud noise is often cited as a key risk factor. However, this study of over 300,000 people found that eating more fruit, fiber, caffeine, and dairy was associated with reduced risk. “The primary underlying mechanisms may involve the protective effects of these diets on blood vessels and nerves, as well as their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties,” researchers wrote in The BMJ.
