Researchers from the University of Mississippi have discovered that time-restricted eating (TRE) coupled with exercise could lead to greater fat loss than just exercise alone. The team analyzed 15 studies involving 338 participants and found that those who combined exercise with TRE lost 2.9 pounds more fat compared to those without any meal timing restrictions. Interestingly, muscle mass did not seem to be significantly impacted. Most studies used what’s called a 16:8 daily schedule, where participants fast for 16 hours and eat for 8. TRE may reduce caloric intake, and eating during the day may better align with the body’s natural biological rhythms. (Study Finds)
