Alaskan TikToker @akwildrose_beadwork visited a Diamond Walmart store in Anchorage to discover that Spam is now under lock and key. The video shows an employee unlocking a door using an app to give the customer a can of Spam. Over the past few years, more and more retailers are putting everyday items behind locked doors to prevent shoplifting. However, some studies show that this practice can reduce sales by 25%. Video commenters seemed put off by the guarded Spam. “I don’t call for help I just leave,” one wrote. “We’re locking down war rations now? This is rock bottom,” another said. (Daily Dot)
