Evidence supporting Ozempic and similar drugs as potential dementia treatments is growing. A recent study from Ireland revealed that GLP-1 drugs, used to treat type 2 diabetes and obesity, may lower the risk of developing dementia. When compared to other medications or placebos, individuals on GLP-1 therapy had significantly lower dementia diagnoses. Clinical trials for dementia prevention are already underway by scientists and pharmaceutical companies. While these drugs were initially approved to regulate blood sugar, recent trials have also shown potential in reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, a factor in dementia. (Gizmodo)
